MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team returns to the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center for a three-match home stand, beginning with a contest against Western Carolina on Saturday, March 9.

Scouting the Catamounts
Western Carolina enters Saturday's matchup currently riding a three-match winning streak. The Catamounts most recently blanked Winston-Salem State, 7-0, this past Thursday. Jordan Strickland has led the way for the Catamounts with a 6-4 record at No. 1 singles and 7-2 doubles record alongside Savannah Taranto. Western Carolina is led by head coach Bret Beaver who is serving in his second season at the helm.
Scouting the Cleveland State
Cleveland State enters the weekend holding a 5-6 overall record, most recently falling at Akron, 7-0. The Vikings have struggled on the road this season, with an 0-6 record away from home court. Sian Payne has racked up the most singles victories for Cleveland State, going 7-3 on the season. Cleveland State is led by first year head coach, Frank Polito.
Scouting the USC Upstate
USC Upstate enters the weekend on a seven-match losing skid. The Spartans most recently dropped a 4-3 decision to Gardner-Webb this past Wednesday. USC Upstate is coached by Tim McLane who is serving in his third season.
Next Up
Following the three-match home stand, the Bears will travel to Elon, N.C. to face Elon on Monday, March 18.
