Bears Host Pair of Michigan Teams this Weekend

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's lacrosse team will open its Southern Conference schedule this weekend by facing a pair of Michigan foes, Detroit Mercy and Central Michigan, at Five Star Stadium.

The Bears kick off the weekend at 4 p.m. Friday against the Titans before challenging the Chippewas at 12 p.m. (noon) on Sunday. Both contests will be streamed on the SoCon Digital Network.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer and Detroit Mercy are tied, 3-3 in their all-time series. The Bears defeated Detroit Mercy, 17-16, in double overtime on the road before pulling off another thrilling win, 18-17, in the first round of the SoCon Tournament last season.

The Bears lead Central Michigan, 2-1, in their all-time series. The two teams squared off in Mount Pleasant, Mich. last season, when the Bears were defeated, 15-13.

NOTABLES

Mercer leads the SoCon in clearing percentage (.812), shots per game (31.33) and caused turnovers per game (11.67) while ranking second in draw control percentage (.491), ground balls per game (21.11), shots on goal per game (20.44) and save percentage (.456).
Audrey Robertson ranks fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.00) and 19th in ground balls per game (3.33).
Hailey Rhatigan ranks 10th nationally for shots per game (8.33), 49th in goals (27), 33rd in goals per game (3.00), 26th for shots on goal per game (5.33). The freshman ranks second in the SoCon in points (32) and points per game (3.56).
Iseabal Cryne ranks 37th nationally in saves (87) and saves per game (9.67). The sophomore ranks second in the conference in goals-against average (12.67).
Michaela Lucas leads the Bears in draw controls, averaging 3.56 per game.

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
The Titans open their conference schedule by traveling to Macon, Ga. to take on the Bears. Detroit Mercy's offense is led by Lexie Kinmond who has recorded 19 goals and 19 assists. Kaitlyn Wandelt leads the circle with 59 draw controls for the season. Allison McDonough has garnered all eight starts for the Titans, defending the pipes with 77 saves and a .391 save percentage.

SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Central Michigan will travel to Georgia to challenge Kennesaw State on Friday before playing their first conference contest on Sunday with the Bears. Jocelyn Lemay has earned 21 goals this season, also adding 10 caused turnovers to lead the Chippewas. Anna Schoonover specialized in the circle, totaling 35 so far. Goalkeeper, Dominique Hamman, averages a .470 save percentage including 63 saves for Central Michigan.
