
Katie Sidor Earns All-SoCon First Team Honors

Senior named to all-conference team for second straight season
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer senior Katie Sidor was named to the 2019 All-Southern Conference Singles First Team for the second consecutive season by the leagues' coaches on Tuesday afternoon.

Sidor was one of six players in the conference to earn first team honors, joining two Furman players, one ETSU player and one Wofford player. Sidor was Mercer's lone representative on the All-SoCon First, Second and Freshman Teams.

A native of Rockledge, Fla., Sidor ranked third in the SoCon in No. 1 singles win percentage (.773) as she went 17-5 overall and 6-1 in league action. She ended the regular season on a high note, winning five consecutive matches.
Sidor will lead the sixth-seeded Bears against No. 3-seeded Wofford in the first round of the 2019 SoCon Championship at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon.
