Mercer Blows Past Wofford in SoCon Road Match

Bears walk away with a 20-6 conference win
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer scored eight straight goals to open the match en route to a 20-6 win at Wofford in Southern Conference play on Friday afternoon.
It was the third straight win for Mercer (6-6, 3-0 SoCon), which remained undefeated in league action. Wofford dropped to 2-9 overall and 0-1 in the SoCon.
Goals by Catie Snee, Kelly Hagerty, Lily Morin, Hailey Rhatigan, Caroline Kerr and Kendall Garrett helped the Bears jump out to a dominant lead before Wofford netted its first goal with 15:52 left in the first half. Mercer would enter halftime with a 14-4 advantage. A five-goal run by Mercer at the start of the second half extended the Bears' lead to 19. The Terriers broke the run with a goal of their own with 13 minutes left on the clock. Wofford scored the final two goals of the contest.
