Mercer Sweeps First Road Game Against A&M

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – The Mercer volleyball squad swept Florida A&M 3-0 (25-9, 25-19, 25-11) in Tallahassee Tuesday night to bring their win streak to three early in the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-9) | Florida A&M Â took an early lead in the match going up 3-2- the two squads would go back and forth until Mercer would go on a 13-4 run late in the match to take the set. Annie Karle would start the run with back-to-back kills and Roberta Todd would end the set in the same manor.

Set Two (25-19) | The Bears would have to fight hard in the set when the Rattlers went on three four-point streaks but due to five errors, Mercer would get the push they needed to come out with the win. Roberta Todd led the set with six kills.

Set Three (25-11) |Â Mercer started the last set scoring 10 of the first 12 points. Annie Karle started the set with a kill, followed by Brittany Major and two service aces. Karle would have three more kills in the set to bring her season total to 45. Roberta Todd would end the set and match with back-to-back kills. Â

The Bears will head to Jacksonville, Florida for the University of North Florida Invitational to take on Wake Forest, East Carolina, and North Florida this Friday and Saturday.
