Mercer Returns Home to Host Alabama A&M

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team looks to win its second straight match on Saturday when they host Alabama A&M at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center on the campus of Mercer University.

Mercer is coming off a 6-1 victory over Florida A&M on Tuesday. This was the first win for the Bears since Jan. 11 when they opened the season against Oral Roberts. Against the Rattlers in the last match, Mercer won all three doubles matches.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Alabama A&M enters Saturday's match with the Bears with an 0-4 record on the season. Two of the loses for the Bulldogs came against SEC opponents, Auburn and Alabama. This season, the Bulldogs have won only one match, against UT Martin this season. The lone in was by Jasmine Boyd, who won 6-3, 6-4 in No. 1 singles against Daphne Pratt.

Last season, the Bears and Bulldogs met in Auburn, Ala. and the Bears came away with a 6-1 victory.

The Bears host Georgia State (Feb. 21) and Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 22) concluding their three-match home stand.
