
Bear Spotlight: Logan Culver

Culver completed her senior season in the fall of 2019 and helped the Bears to a 16-4-0 record.
MACON, Ga. – It takes a special combination of academic excellence and athletic skill to be able to succeed as a student-athlete at Mercer University. Throughout the next few months, we will highlight these young men and women who have the privilege of calling themselves a Bear.

Today, we highlight women's soccer senior Logan Culver
As a senior, Culver appeared in 11 contests with one start. She netted her lone goal of the season in the 40th minute of the Bears' 6-1 triumph over the Davidson Wildcats on September 1. Culver's goal allowed Mercer to take a 3-1 lead to the locker room, and the Bears shutout the Wildcats in the second half en route to their fourth victory of the season.
For her career, Culver appeared in 58 matches and scored eight goals. She is a three-time SoCon Academic Honor Roll member and was named Academic All-Conference in the fall of 2019.
Why did you choose Mercer?
"I chose Mercer because it is a beautiful campus with a great culture."
What is your favorite moment at Mercer
"Beating Samford at home this season."
The Bears topped the Bulldogs, 1-0, on Amaya Evans goal in the 88th minute. Nicole Icen found Evans sprinting down the right side of the field and passed ahead to her. Evans dribbled into the box and scored, putting Mercer ahead with 2:26 to go. The Bears' fended off on final attempt from Samford for the victory.
What is your favorite sporting event you have been a part of at Mercer?
"I can't pick just one. I love going to any sporting event with my teammates."
Do you have any game day rituals?
"It's only a ritual when we have a game on Sunday but watching the Elevation Church sermon (is something I make sure to do)."
What are you working to get your degree in and what is your end goal?
"I am graduating in May with a degree in Finance and want to work in social services."
