Mercer has won its last three matches against Georgia Southern

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team continues its 2020 slate as it welcomes Georgia Southern to Betts Field on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer holds a 27-24 advantage in the all-time series against Georgia Southern, including a win in each of the last three meetings. Last season, the Bears came away with a 3-2 victory over the Eagles. Dylan Gaither and Trevor Martineau struck quickly to put Mercer up 2-0 in the first 20 minutes of the match, but a pair of second-half goals by Aldair Cortes (67') and Adam Davie (74') evened the score at two apiece. Leo Toledo Jr. provided the heroics in the 82nd minute with an unassisted tally for the game-winner.

Mercer has won each of its last three meetings against Georgia Southern.
Martineau is currently the active NCAA Division I leader in points (65), points per game (1.63), goals (24) and goals per game (0.60).
Toledo Jr. is the nation's active leader in assists (20) and assists per game (0.34).
JR DeRose made five saves for the 13th time in his career in the season opener against Georgia State.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

The Eagles fell to South Carolina in their season opener, 2-0, on Saturday.
Georgia Southern's offense has been stagnant over its last five matches, scoring just one goal since a 3-0 setback at Howard on Oct. 26 last season.
The Eagles generated just six shots and four on goal against South Carolina.
Jose Eduardo Bomfim made three saves in goal for the Eagles while surrendering two goals.
