Bears will continue in the SoCon Tournament on Sunday.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a win in the Quarterfinals, the Mercer Bears will continue their postseason run on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. eastern time battle with Samford in Alabama.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer picked up its ninth loss to the Bulldogs earlier in the season with a 0-1 final after 90 minutes in Macon, Ga. Audrey Kleiman scored the lone goal off a pass from Taylor Yount in the 86^th minute. Jordyn Ebert recorded six saves on the day. The Bulldogs lead the series against the Bears, 9-2-3 since Aug. 2010.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
The Bears won their first matchup in postseason play against ETSU and scored two goals. Kendall Cook scored a screamer outside of the 18 in the first half and Payton Schurr got one in the back of the net in the second half. MU dominated that match in possession and shots on goal and pressured the SoCon All-Conference Team GK of the year, Shu Obha. Mercer's last win against the Bulldogs was in 2019 with a 1-0 triumph at home in Macon. Furthermore, Ally Fordham (9 goals) leads the Bears in scoring while she is also first in goals as well as game winning goals scored by any active roster player within the SoCon.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Samford is 13-3-2 overall and 9-0 in the SoCon. They are coming off a 2-0 win against Chattanooga in the SoCon Quarterfinals. Samford's Caroline Donovan and Audrey Kleiman scored two goals on Friday. Kylie Gazza led their defense to the shutout on the day. Most recently, the Bulldogs obtained a 3-1 victory at Shauna Yelton Field as they also concluded their regular season with Chattanooga.
