Mercer Announces Scholarship Recipients

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Athletics and the Mercer Athletic Foundation have named the recipients of the James Malcolm Cole, Jr. Baseball Scholarship and the Barry Myers Baseball Scholarship on Friday.

Tanner Hall, a senior from Warner Robins, is the recipient of the James Malcolm Cole, Jr. Baseball Scholarship.

The James Malcolm Cole, Jr. Baseball Scholarship was established by Ruth P. Cole and James Malcolm Cole, III (BUS 1993/MBA 1999). This fund is used for a scholarship for a pitcher on the baseball team.

"Over the course of Tanner's career, he has been recognized by the SoCon as Pitcher of the Week, as well as being an Academic All-SoCon selection," said Director of Athletics Jim Cole. "He is a leader in the clubhouse, and I'm thrilled that my family's scholarship has been awarded to Tanner."

Redshirt junior Jordan Ammons is the recipient of the Barry Myers Baseball Scholarship.

The Barry Myers Baseball Scholarship was established by Emily P. Myers and Robb Myers (CLA 1995). This fund is used for a scholarship for a student-athlete on the baseball team. This scholarship is named in honor of legendary Mercer baseball coach Barry Myers.

"Jordan Ammons is an outstanding student-athlete and represents Mercer to the fullest," remarked head coach Craig Gibson. "Jordan is working on his masters and wants to attend medical school following his time at Mercer. He is not just a good baseball player but an outstanding student-athlete."
