SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer and Troy have met 10 times with the Bears leading the series, 5-3-2. The two teams last battled in the 2017 season opener with the Bears leaving Troy, Ala., with a 1-0 victory after Caroline Smith scored with 6:19 remaining in the match to help Mercer prevail.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
Mercer's Cook won the first Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week award of the season after scoring four goals in the Bears' last two matches. Cook has burst onto the college soccer scene this spring, but she is not the only Mercer Bear to have multiple noteworthy performances. Jordyn Ebert and Payton Jamieson have both spent time in goal and have allowed a mere one goal this spring. Ebert picked up her 300th career save in last Sunday's win over in-state rival Kennesaw State. Aliah Kitchens leads the team with five goals while Cook and Ally Fordham each have four. Â Â
SCOUTING THE TROJANS
The Sun Belt Conference played soccer in the fall, and Troy advanced to the Sun Belt quarterfinals where it fell to Georgia State, 6-1. The Trojans played Alabama State to open their spring schedule, posting a 3-1 win thanks to a pair of goals from Taytum Terrell and one from Melissa Kuya-Strobel. Kuya-Strobel leads Troy with three goals on the year while a trio of players – Terrell, Kate Eubaks and Regielly Halldorsdottir – each have a pair of goals. Lindsey LaLoche started 11-of-12 fall matches in goal and made 66 saves. Gaby Cossette played the full 90 in Troy's spring opener and stopped two shots.
