SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
The two teams met last season in an exhibition match prior to the spring season. Tuesday's contest once again will not count towards regular season records. The Bears and Dolphins have not battled in regular season play since 2013 when Jacksonville claimed a 2-1 victory.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
The Bears return their top 10 points scorers from the 2020-21 campaign. Sophomore Kendall Cook will look to continue the momentum from her freshman season, a campaign in which she led the Bears in points with 20 and landed on the All-Southern Conference freshman team. The Orange & Black's leading goal scorer from last season and All-SoCon selection, Ally Fordham, also returns. Fordham scored nine goals and tallied one assist for 20 points. Aliah Kitchens was third in points with 16 (6 goals, 4 assists) and helped the Bears reach the SoCon semifinals. In goal, Jordyn Ebert announced that she will spend another season between the pipes. Ebert has had a decorated career at Mercer and currently sits second in wins (36), shutouts (16) and saves (359). She won seven games in 2020-21 and made 96 saves while recording two shutouts.
SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
Jacksonville struggled to a 1-10-1 record in the spring with its lone win coming against Stetson on March 13. The Dolphins return both Gabby Holtrip and Shelby Brim for 2021. The duo accounted for five of the Dolphins' six goals in the spring with Holtrip contributing three and Brim two. Courtney Green spent the majority of the 2021 spring campaign in goal, playing all but 119:10. She made 61 saves and had a respectable 1.79 goals against average after nearly 1,000 minutes in the net.
