Men finished 11th, and the women ran 19th
Huntsville, Ala. – The Mercer cross country program finished in 11th (men) and 19th (women) at the North Alabama Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday morning. The men averaged 25:51 for the 8K, the second fastest all-time men's average.
"The guys had a great race today and the women improved greatly from the season opener. We know we can perform much better to bridge the gap more at our upcoming races", said head coach Josh Hayman. "Josh and Vladi went for it from the start and were rewarded with big personal bests. Jonathan is still figuring out the distance but worked hard to charge down 16 runners in the last portion of the race. Laney led the way in a big effort for the women. It is always a great day when you are resetting the record books".
