Jaron Dougherty selected by SoCon for third time this season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Following 19 points, six rebound, two steals and two blocks in the win over Chattanooga, Jaron Dougherty was named the SoCon Player of the Week, presented by GEICO.

Dougherty, a senior from Buford, Georgia, is the only student-athlete to be named the Player of the Week by the league. Through 13 games this season, she has scored double-digit points on 10 occasions and leads the Bears with 185 (14.2 per contest).

Prior to the start of the season, she was included in the SoCon's all-conference team. In January 2021, she was honored as the league's Player of the Month.

The Bears will hit the road for their first away conference games of the season when they visit UNCG (Jan. 12) and Western Carolina (Jan. 14).
