
Bears Narrowly Fall To #15 Florida State

Mercer loses 4-3 in Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Facing some of the toughest competition they'll see this season, the Mercer women's tennis team came to compete against the #15 Florida State Seminoles. The Bears would eventually fall by a score of 4-3. With the loss, Mercer falls to 0-2 on the season and Florida State improves to 1-0.
Naya Tillitt highlighted the Bears efforts in singles play defeating Lesedi Jacobs of FSU by a score of 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 10-8. Mercer would claim number five and six singles by forfeit.
The doubles pair of Lauren Rich and Francesca Franchi would claim number three doubles by forfeit but FSU took the doubles point after claiming number one and two doubles.
The Bears will return home for their home opener on Saturday, January 29 when they take on Alabama A&M at 10 A.M. followed by Young Harris College at 2:30 P.M.
