Mercer to Travel to Alabama

The Mercer Bears will travel to face Samford and then return home to host Wofford this week.
Macon, GA - The Mercer volleyball team will be on the road this week after a second weekend going 1-1 against Southern Conference opponents. This will be the team's first weekday game of the season.Â

NOTABLE BEARS
- Annie Karle continues to lead the team in kills this season with 249 and averaging 3.89 per set. Karle also leads the teams in points with 287 (highest 27 at SUIE).
- Middle hitter, Paige Wagers, continues to dominate this season as she leads the team in blocks. She also led the teams in kills this past weekend against The Citadel, averaging a .340 HIT%.Â
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGSÂ
Samford is 9-9 so far this season and 4-2 in the Conference. The Bulldogs lead the series history 19-6 with a 2-2 split from the past four games. They are currently on a three-game win streak and average 13.7 kills per set with a .233 HIT% as a team.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERSÂ
Wofford sits 12-6 overall (4-2 SoCon) and is on a four-game win streak. Wofford leads the series 13-11 with only 2 wins in the last five games. Mercer will have to look out for middle blocker Sarah Barham who was named SoCon's Defensive player of the month for September. She has 49 blocks so far with an average of 1.14 per set.Â
