Birmingham, Ala. – The Mercer women's soccer team is the number three seed in the Southern Conference Tournament and will play the number six seed East Tennessee State Buccaneers in a quarterfinal game on Oct. 28. The winner of the game will advance to the Sunday's semifinal, and play the winner of the Samford-The Citadel game.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
The Bears hold a 9-4-3 edge over ETSU. The teams played once in the regular season, and it resulted in a 0-0 tie. With this being a conference tournament game there will be no tie. If the score is tied at the end of regulation time, there will be two 10-minute overtime periods, played in their entirety. So it is possible for each team to score in overtime. If the score remains tied at the end of the second overtime, the game will be decided by penalty kicks.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
The Buccaneers are backstopped by goalkeeper Shu Ohba who gave up only 10 goals in 9 games played for a 1.8 goals against average. One third of her games resulted in shutouts as she blanked opponents three times on the season. Emma Arnold is ETSU's leading scorer. She has four goals and one assist for nine points in 16 games.
