Beat Jacksonville State, 7-6
Statesboro, Ga.--It sounds like the score of a tennis set that had to go to a tiebreaker, as the Mercer women's tennis team opened its fall schedule with a 7-6 victory over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks October 7 at the Georgia Southern Classic in Statesboro.Â
The meet featured four doubles matches, followed by nine singles matches. After dropping the doubles competition, 3-1, the Bears needed to win six of the nine singles match ups to win the match. They did just that.Â
On Saturday October 8, Mercer will take on Troy at 1 p.m. That match will feature four doubles, and eight singles Matches. Â
