Bears play Colorado State and Texas Tech in Tournament
MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's basketball team plays its first of back-to-back games in Las Vegas, Nevada against Colorado State on Friday night. Then, on Saturday night the Bears play Big 12 member Texas Tech. Both games are scheduled for 11 p.m. ET and can be streamed on FloHoops.com.

SCOUTING COLORADO STATE
Colorado State is led by head coach Ryun Williams who is in his 11th year as head coach of the Rams. Last season the Rams finished 21-12 and 9-9 in conference play. Colorado State enters Friday's game with a 3-1record, with its lone loss coming to Mississippi State. The Rams are averaging 79.0 points per game, while shooting 49.0 percent from the field and make 12.0 threes a game. The Rams do an excellent job of taking care of the ball as they average just 6.5 turnovers per game and lead the country in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.5.
The Rams return their leading scorer in McKenna Hofschild who finished second in the Mountain West averaging 16.9 points per game last year. This season Hofschild is averaging 17.3 points per game and ranks second in the country averaging 9.0 assists per game.
SCOUTING TEXAS TECH
Texas Tech enters the tournament with a 3-1 record with its lone loss coming to Jackson State. Freshman Bailey Mapuin has been one of the best freshman in the Big 12 Conference. She has scored in double figures in each of Texas Tech's last three games, including a 20-point performance against Colorado.
The Red Raiders have four players who average double figures in scoring led by sophomore Rhyle McKinney who averages 16.3 points per game. McKinney is shooting 60.5 percent from the floor and is shooting 47.4 percent from three. As a team, the Red Raiders lead the Big 12 early in the season in field goal percentage at 47.5 percent Junior, Jazmaine Lewis leads Texas Tech in rebounds, averaging 5.5 per game.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's basketball team used a balanced scoring attack and lock down defense to defeat Georgia Southwestern State 72-37 on Sunday afternoon from Hawkins Arena. The Bears held Georgia Southwestern State to 2-23 (9 %) from the floor in the first half and led 32-10 at the break. Four different Mercer players had multiple steals in the game. Mercer outscored the Lady Hurricanes 48-22 in the paint. The Bears got 33 points from their bench.
Brittany Reeves had her second career double- double, scoring a career-high 15 points to go with 11 rebounds. Nigeria Harkless tied her career-high with 11 points and she pulled down four rebounds to go with three assists. Summah Evans made her first six shots from the floor and had 13 of her 15 points in the first half.
