Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Behind a combined 54 points, a dozen rebounds, four assists and a block in last week's contests, Amoria Neal-Tysor was named the SoCon Player of the Week, presented by GEICO.

In her last contest, she tallied a season-high of 29 points in the 82-48 road win over ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn. In the opening quarter, she netted 18 points – capped off with 3-for-3 from three.

Neal-Tysor, a senior guard, led Mercer in scoring against both Chattanooga and ETSU – with 25 and 29 points, respectively – in the last two times out for the Bears. Additionally, her 320 points pace the Orange & Black this season. She has reached double-digits in points in every league game but one this season.

Prior to the start of the season, she was included in the SoCon's all-conference team. The Sanford, N.C. native was named the Most Outstanding Player in last season's conference tournament.
