Neal-Tysor Named SoCon Player of the Month

Senior guard's 20.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg helped lead Bears to titles
MACON, Ga. – Mercer senior Amoria Neal-Tysor, was named the SoCon's Player of the Month for February, the league announced on Friday afternoon.
In the final month of the season, the Sanford, N.C. native tallied 20.9 points per game and collected 4.9 rebounds per game and a 7-0 record on the way to claiming the Regular Season and Tournament championships. Neal-Tysor notched at least 23 points in four of the month's six contests. Against Wofford in a pivotal road game, the guard dropped 31 points, pulled seven rebounds and dished three assists to break away from the Terriers in the league race.
Neal-Tysor led the Bears in points (492), field goal percentage (43.4), free throw percentage (76.6) and assists (91) in the regular season. Nationally, the two-time SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player ranked 73rd with her 492 scored.
Additionally, she was a two-time selection as the league's Player of the Week.
On Sunday night, Neal-Tysor and Mercer will learn their opponent in the NCAA Tournament's Round of 64.
