Bears fall 4-3 to UNCG
MACON, Ga. - In the conference opener, Mercer Women's Tennis dropped a 4-3 decision to UNCG on Saturday afternoon at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.
At No. 2 doubles, Kristin Yordanova and Lauren Rich dispatched their competition with a 6-2 decision, but the Spartans took the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3.
In singles action - Naya Tillitt, Lekha Varudandi and Alara Hollyfield - took straight set wins to take points at Courts 2, 4 and 5 for Mercer's singles points. Lauren Rich dropped a heartbreaker in three with a 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 decision at Court 3, which could have turned the match in Mercer's favor.
