COACH PAYNE'S THOUGHTS:Â
"We want to thank Wofford for hosting such a well ran and well put invitational. We knew we wanted to do some damage in the last outing before we begin our post season play and I believe we were able to do so in the first day in Spartanburg", head coach Payne said. "After a decent first 18 holes, I knew our guys had more in the tank entering the final stretch and those talents were truly showcased on the course. Three eagles is something I of course always like to see and having Jonsson shoot a 66 is more than what I could ask for from any of our guys. I strongly believe if we could have emulated that performance on Tuesday then we could have finished in the top five. With that being said, I'm also proud of Mixon and Plukka. As soon as we need guys to step up, they do. What we have to do now is come together as a collective and get ready for to illustrate our dominance in Greensboro. Â
UP NEXT:
Mercer will compete in the SoCon Tournament starting Friday, April 22nd as the Bears set out to compete in the familiar setting of Greensboro, Ga. The three-day and 54-hole event will be hosted at The Oconee.Â
