Mercer drops 6-1 decision to Western Carolina
CULLOWHEE, N.C. - In the penultimate regular season match, Mercer fell to Western Carolina by a 6-1 score on Thursday afternoon.
The homestanding Catamounts claimed the doubles point by sweeping all three courts for the day's first point.
Francesa Franchi's come-from-behind win at No. 6 got Mercer on the board with her 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 result. Naya Tillitt fell in a heartbreaking 1-6, 7-7 (12-10), 7-10 match at Court No. 1.
Tomorrow, Mercer will travel to Wofford to close out the season against the Terriers. First serves from Spartanburg are slated for 1:30 p.m.
