Mercer to face Paladins in road tilt on Saturday
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Carrying on into conference play, Mercer will look to keep up its winning streak when they visit an old Southern Conference foe in Furman on Saturday afternoon.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the 10th all-time meeting between Mercer and Furman, with the Paladins holding the 6-3 series advantage. Mercer's last two wins in the series have come by one goal for the SoCon championship and with the NCAA Tournament berth on the line. In Greenville, the last two have been split.
SCOUTING MERCER
The Bears outlasted Gardner-Webb with a 21-13 win that stretched to two days due to an inclement weather delay. Hailey Rhatigan tied a career-best eight goals and added four assists to total 12 points in the win. On the season, Rhatigan has scored 48 goals and totaled 61 points, which ranks ninth and 14th in Division I, respectively. Kayla Soltys (39) and Erin Degnan (38) lead Mercer in the draw circle through the 10 played. Defensively, Ainsley Malamala and Emma Pizzo have evenly combined for 20 caused turnovers.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Like the Bears, Furman is off to a 3-0 start in Big South play in their inaugural season in the league. In their last time out, Furman used eight second-half goals to beat Longwood on the road. Meagan Beal leads the Furman offense with 28 points on 22 goals and six assists on 50 shots, as well as in the draw circles with 52 won. In goal, Lily Rathbun has stopped 72 shots on net in 480 minutes clocked. Additionally, Rathbun paces the Paladins in ground balls with 28.
