Tennis Teams Honored for Academic Achievement

Men's, women's teams, student-athletes honored by ITA

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Mercer tennis teams and 10 student-athletes were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for academic achievement in the 2021-22 school year.

Six members of the women's squad: Mary Courville, Alara Hollyfield, Ashley Popham, Lauren Rich, Lekha Varudandi and Kristin Yordanova; and four on the men's side: Samuel Barrow, David Georgadze, Alexandr Koliev and Daniel Krashin were honored for their individual achievements in the classroom.

All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) be a varsity letter winner, 2) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

All members of the 2022 ITA All-Academic Teams and ITA Scholar-Athletes will receive a certificate to recognize the achievement.
