MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team opens a seven game homestand hosting Florida Gulf Coast of the Atlantic Sun Conference Sunday Sept. 11.

Bears are coming off their first loss of the season, 2-0 at South Florida Friday night. It was also the first time Mercer has been shutout this season.

Goalkeeper Trevor McMullen had a season high seven saves against South Florida on Friday night. He is the SoCon Defensive Player of the Week, for the week that ended September 5th. McMullen backstopped the Bears to a 1-1 tie with North Carolina State and a 3-2 win over Virginia Tech.

After getting an assist at Virginia Tech, on Monday, freshman Tommy Redd was one of seven Bears that got a shot at South Florida, while logging a season high 54 minutes played.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Florida Gulf Coast is coming off a 2-0 win at Georgia Southern Friday night. The Eagles have not given up a goal in an official game. Their game against Central Florida was cancelled due to weather, so a goal Central Florida scored became void as the game was ruled no contest. The Eagles have three goals from three different players--Anthony Gagliarid, Davi Alves, and Aedon Kyra. Goalkeeper Wyatt Kistner has all three shutouts for Florida Gulf Coast.
