Jonsson, Mixon in Top Five

Bowling Green, Fla.—Boosted by two top five performances, the Mercer Bears' men's golf team is in third place of 12 teams after the first two rounds of play at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational in Bowling Green, Florida.

Tobias Jonsson was in second place, 11-under par at 133 heading into Tuesday's final round on the Streamsong Blue course. Trey Mixon of the Bears was tied for fifth with his 8-under 136. Reece Moore in his first tournament as a Bear shot six under 138 in his two rounds. Jonathan Parker shot one under 143. Gustav Sjoeberg rounded out the Bears' team roster, also under par, at 143, one shot under. August Jording is competing as an individual only, his score will not count toward the Bears' team total. His two round total is 155, 11-over par.

Mercer's team total of 548 for two rounds trailed only Virginia (535) and Jacksonville (546).

The tournament concludes with 18 holes of play on Tuesday.
