Mercer to Host the Teams of Tennessee

The Mercer Bears will host the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and East Tennessee State University this weekend.
Macon, GA - The Mercer volleyball team will be home this weekend after six games on the road. This will be the second weekend of conference play with Mercer sitting in the fourth spot in hitting percentage in the SoCon.

NOTABLE BEARS
- Annie Karle leads the team in kills this season. After a phenomenal performance at the Stetson Invitational, she was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 13). Karle now has 1209 kills for her career(third in the conference) and has hit over 400 games played. She is ranked second in the SoCon for kills and averages four kills per set.Â
- Jaida Howell claimed the fourth spot in the conference this week for hitting percentage and service aces.Â
- Middle hitter, Paige Wagers, continues to dominate this season as she leads the team in blocks. Wagers has 51 blocks this season and is second in the conference.Â
SCOUTING THE MOCS
The Mocs are 7-9Â this season and are one of three teams who are 2-0 in conference play. This will be the 35th meeting between the two teams. Chattanooga leads the series 19-16, with their away record being 7-6. The Mocs are ranked second in blocks and first for digs in the SoCon.Â
SCOUTING THE BUCS
Eastern Tennessee State is 8-6 overall and also 2-0 in conference play. This will be the 35th meeting between the two teams. While ETSU does not lead in the conference as a team, the Bears will have to watch out for two-time SoCon setter of the week (Sept. 20/27), Caroline Dykes.Â
