
Women's Soccer Falls 1-0 To ETSU in SoCon Quarterfinals

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Mercer women's soccer team dropped its SoCon Tournament quarterfinal match to ETSU, 1-0 on Friday evening from Johnson City, Tennessee.
The lone goal from of the game from ETSU came early, in the seventh minute on a goal from its leading goal scorer Sinoxolo Cesane.
In a tightly contested match, both goalies - Mercer's Lindsay Bell and ETSU's Ashton Blair - came up with huge saves to deny great scoring opportunities for both teams.
One of Mercer's best chances in the game came in the 64th minute when Kendall Cook crossed a ball into the box that found the foot of Emily Duncan, but her shot from inside the box was saved from Blair.
ETSU had the advantage in shots at 17-9, and shots on goal were close with ETSU holding a 5-4 advantage on the day.
