MACON – After a win over Western Carolina and a near-upset in five sets of undefeated Citadel, Mercer will host ETSU and Furman on Friday and Saturday at Hawkins Arena at 6 p.m.
On September 30, Mercer lost the first set against Western Carolina but fought back to win the next three and take their second Southern Conference win of the season and second in a row. The next day, the team traveled to The Citadel and played a strong game, forcing the undefeated team to five sets on their home court. Kylee Quigley posted a career high of 20 kills against Western Carolina, and Skyler Bumpers and Mykole Morgan set their career highs in kills against The Citadel with 16 each.
ETSUÂ carries a 1-14 record with their only win coming in conference play against UNCG at home. Since 2008, the Bucs lead the series 22-6, including the most recent matchup in October 2022, which the Bucs won 3-0. In 2021, the two teams met four times, and Mercer won all four matches 3-0.
Furman boasts a 12-3 record (3-1 SoCon). Since 2009, the Paladins lead the series 14-9, but the Bears won both matches the two teams played in 2022. Mercer has only lost one match to Furman out of the last eight, taking it back to 2019.

Next week, the Bears will play one road game at Samford on October 12 then host Chattanooga on October 15.Â
