MACON, GA - Mercer men's lacrosse head coach Ryan Danehy announced the regular season schedule for the 2024 season. The Bears will play a 14-game regular season slate that features six home games at Five Star Stadium, seven away games, and one neutral site game in Atlanta, Georgia.
Â
"We are really happy to unveil the 2024 schedule," said Danehy. "Much like last year's schedule, we wanted to make sure we challenge ourselves with our out-of-league opponents to best prepare us for the many looks we face during the ASUN season. This year will feature a return to the High Point/Mercer rivalry in the first game of the 2024 Division I season and my first-night game as a head coach this spring at home versus Utah. We're also excited to play UNC in Atlanta in an incredible doubleheader showcase with Army/UMass playing before us. We see two new opponents as we host Hampton and Le Moyne in their inaugural Division I season, and we're excited to head north for Army in the historic Miche Stadium. Overall, we're looking forward to the many challenges the 2024 season awaits us starting February 2nd!"
Â
The Bears open their schedule with a pair of preseason scrimmages on back-to-back weekends on Jan. 20 and Jan. 27 at Five Star Stadium.
Â
Following the preseason scrimmages, Mercer will open the 2024 season with a trip to High Point, North Carolina to battle rival High Point University on Feb. 2. Two days later, on Feb. 4 the Bears welcome Hampton to Five Stadium for the first home game of the year. On Feb. 10 the Bears will travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the 2024 Atlanta Lacrosse Invitational where they will match up against the UNC Tarheels.
Â
Following a bye week, The Bears will then travel to West Point, New York to battle against a top-25 Army team on Feb. 24
Â
After another bye week, Mercer will welcome Le Moyne to Macon, Georgia on Mar. 10 for their final non-conference game of the season. Mercer will then travel to Detroit, Illinois to begin ASUN Conference play against Detroit Mercy on March 16.
Â
The Bears will have two home games in the week following their trip to Illinois. The first is against Bellarmine on Wednesday, March 20, and the second is against Jacksonville University on Saturday, March 23.
Â
Following the game against the Dolphins, Mercer will hit the road to play at Robert Morris on the March 30 and Cleveland State on April 6. The Bears will return to Five Star on April 13 to battle the Utah Utes.
Â
Following the game at home against Utah, Mercer will travel in back-to-back weeks to face conference foes Air Force (April 17) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina.
