Men's Basketball Faces Queens for the First Time

MACON – The Mercer men's basketball team (4-6) will host the Queens Royals (6-6) for the first time in program history on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Bears have won the past two home games with two more remaining before the Christmas break.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+. This is the first of three consecutive games against an opponent Mercer has never faced before. Thomas (Dec. 21) and Talladega (Dec. 29) round out the schedule for 2023.

The Eagles gained a nine-point lead early in the second half, but the Bears responded with a 14-0 run to take the lead for good. The team was led by Jalen Cobb who scored a Mercer-career-high 19 points, including five 3-pointers. |

| Queens has an even record (6-6) overall but an 0-5 road record heading into the game at Mercer. The Royals are currently in eighth place in the Atlantic Sun Conference after receiving 10th (Coaches) and ninth (Media) place rankings in the preseason polls. Junior guard AJ McKee was selected to the Preseason All-ASUN Team. McKee leads the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game. Junior guard Deyton Albury and McKee have both totaled at least 20 steals so far this season. |
