
Bears Back on the Road Against Chattanooga

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's basketball program will play its first road game in two weeks on Saturday, February 11 at 3:30 p.m. against Chattanooga. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

UTC currently leads the all-time series with the Bears, 45-41. In the New Year's Eve competition between Mercer and Chattanooga, Jalyn McCreary earned the first double-double of his career with 19 points and 15 rebounds.
SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga and Mercer are both in the bunch tied in the middle of the conference standings at 5-8. The Mocs hit a skid midway through January and have only won two of the last eight games. On Wednesday, UTC earned an 82-63 win over The Citadel.
Since the Bears and the Mocs last met, the SoCon leading scorer, Jake Stephens, sustained an injury and has not played since January 18. Jamal Johnson and Dalvin White have led UTC in scoring in Stephens' absence with 12.7 PPG and 12 PPG, respectively, in the last six games. White currently leads the conference in shooting percentage beyond the arc at 45.9%. The Mocs are the best three-point shooting team in the SoCon at 37.5%, averaging 11.3 made per game.
RECENT ACTION
Mercer played to a heartbreaking 70-69 finish against Samford in overtime on Wednesday night in Hawkins Arena. This was the third overtime game of the season for the Bears and the second in conference play. Neither team led by more than six points and time spent with the lead was almost even.
Four players scored in double figures for the Bears led by James Glisson III with a season-high 15 points and eight rebounds. McCreary and Kamar Robertson each scored 14 points while Shannon Grant had 11 points. Freshman Braden Sparks had another solid performance in his second consecutive start with six rebounds and six assists in a career-high 36 minutes.
