MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's basketball program will play its penultimate home game on Saturday, February 18 against Western Carolina at 2 p.m. in Hawkins Arena. The Bears are looking to end a three-game skid in conference play.

SCOUTING WESTERN CAROLINA
Western Carolina has defied expectations in the Southern Conference this season, currently sitting in fourth place after being picked to finish eighth in the preseason polls. The Catamounts have alternated wins and losses recently with the last back-to-back win sequence coming at the beginning of January. On Wednesday, WCU narrowly defeated ETSU, 68-66, bouncing back after a 34-point loss to Furman over the weekend.
Guard Tre Jackson won Southern Conference Player of the Week after he dropped 47 points in the Catamounts' win over Wofford in double overtime on February 8. Jackson is one of three WCU players in the top 15 for scoring in the conference with 15.6 PPG. Tyzhaun Claude (15.4 PPG) and Vonterius Woolbright (14.6 PPG) round out this list. Claude and Woolbright are the top two rebounders in the SoCon with 8.5 per game and 7.4 per game, respectively.
RECENT ACTION
Mercer dropped two of the last three games by a combined four points, including an overtime finish against Samford. The Bears fell on the road against Wofford on Wednesday, 70-67. Mercer shot 46% from the field, but the Terriers shot an impressive 55.6% and made crucial plays at the end to close out the game.
Kamar Robertson led the team in scoring with 14 points, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. David Craig earned a team-high eight rebounds off the bench.
