
Mercer to Honor Seniors Before Regular Season Finale

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's basketball program will host the final game of the regular season against The Citadel on Saturday, February 25 at 2 p.m. in Hawkins Arena. Five seniors will be recognized before the game: Kamar Robertson, Harrison Drake, Luis Hurtado Jr., Diego Rivera, and John Treanor.

After the road win against The Citadel in January, Mercer leads the all-time series 22-8 over the Bulldogs. In the previous meeting this season, Jalyn McCreary and Luis Hurtado Jr. posted double-doubles, and McCreary earned Southern Conference Player of the Week for his performance.

The Citadel has lost eight of the last nine games, dating back to the defeat to Mercer at the end of January. The Bulldogs' one win in this stretch was against powerhouse Furman, 69-65.
Senior Stephen Clark ranks second in the Southern Conference in scoring with 16.7 PPG. Austin Ash, who averages 36.9 minutes per game, ranks eighth in scoring with 15.2 PPG.
The Bulldogs severely struggle with rebounds, holding a -4.6 rebound margin which is the worst in the league. The Citadel also averages the second-most points scored against, contributing to a -5.6 scoring margin.

Mercer nearly upset Furman in Greenville on Wednesday, narrowly falling, 70-67, after a close second half. The Bears have dropped the past three games by three points each.
Shawn Walker Jr. paced four players scoring in double figures for the Bears with 15 points. The Paladins excelled from the free throw line, finishing 23-of-35 from the charity stripe, which counteracted Mercer scoring five more field goals than Furman.
