MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's lacrosse team faces a tough test on Wednesday when the No. 8 Florida Gators pay a visit to Macon.

SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's contest will be the fourth meeting between Mercer and Florida. Florida leads the series 3-0. Â The Bears and Gators met twice last season, including in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's lacrosse team outscored Kennesaw State 12-3 in the second half on its way to a 20-9 win over the Owls last Sunday.
Mercer had a decisive advantage in shots with a season-high 49 shots to Kennesaw State's 19. The Bears put 36 of their 49 shots on goal.
The Bears also had a big advantage in turnovers as Kennesaw State had 24 to Mercer's 10. Emma Pizzo was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week after she had five caused turnovers, seven ground balls, and four draw controls in the win.
Shannon Urey led all players with six goals on eight shots. Lyndsey Lewis had a six-point game with three goals and three assists.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
Florida comes into Wednesday's game ranked No. 8 in the country with a 5-3 record. Their three losses have all come against Top-10 teams in the country in No. 1 North Carolina, No. 6 Maryland, and No. 7 James Madison.
The Gators are outscoring their opponents 113-85 for an average of 14.1 goals per game which ranks second in the American Athletic Conference.
Florida averages 29.8 shots per game with a .475 shot percentage. Florida's leading goal scorer is sophomore Emma LoPinto who has scored 22 goals through eight games. Including LoPinto, the Gators have five players who are averaging better than 1.00 goal per game.
Three players for Florida have won at least 20 draw controls on the season in Emily Heller (25), Emily Diaz (24), and Liz Harrison (21).
Florida's starting goalie, Sarah Reznick owns an 11.15 goals against average with a .487 save percentage which is second best among goalies in the AAC.
