
Mercer Concludes Regular Season with Win at UNCG

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Mercer women's tennis program (12-9, 4-3) closed out the regular season with a 6-1 road win over UNCG (5-16, 0-7). The Bears finished with a winning record in conference play for the second time ever in the Southern Conference and first time since 2017. Senior Mary Weston Courville posted a perfect 7-0 record in SoCon singles play.
The Bears won all three doubles courts as Camilla Ciaccia and Eden Schlagenhauf started it off with a 6-2 win on court two against Juliana Craft and Hanna Giddings. Teodora Ristic and Courville clinched the doubles point, defeating Arina Babkova and Alexandra Dodashev, 6-4. Marina de Diego Quinones and Kristin Yordanova won 7-5 on court three over Olivia Gallagher and Raegan Mitchell.
Schlagenhauf swept her first singles set against Giddings and earned the next point for Mercer with a 6-0, 6-4 win on court three. Ristic also posted a perfect set, winning 6-2, 6-0 against Babkova on court one.
With the clinching point, Ciaccia beat Craft 6-2, 6-3 on court four to earn her fourth conference win of the season. Courville finished off her perfect performance in conference singles contests with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court two over Dodashev.
UP NEXT: Mercer awaits the release of the Southern Conference Championship bracket. The first round of the tournament will be held on Thursday, April 20 at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
