SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Five home runs spearheaded a series victory for Mercer (30-20, 12-5) over Wofford (34-16, 9-8) with Saturday's 10-8 win at Russell C. King Field. Antonio Brown and Jozsef Rohrbacher each hit two home runs while Treyson Hughes added one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A lengthy first inning saw zero runs scored for both sides, but Wofford took the lead in the second on a triple and an error. Josh Farmer (5-3) got out of the inning with a pair of strikeouts.

The Mercer offense got a sudden spark in the top of the third as the Bears hit back-to-back home runs with two outs on the board. Treyson Hughes hit his second single of the game to reach first, setting up a two-run shot by Antonio Brown on the first pitch of his at-bat to tie the game, 2-2.

Jozsef Rohrbacher was due up next and hit his second home run of the weekend and second of the inning for the Bears to take the lead, 3-2.

A two-run homer for Wofford saw the lead trade hands, but it did not last for long as the Bears created some déjà vu in the top of the fifth.

Just as in the third, Hughes singled to put a runner on base. A. Brown then hit his second home run of the game to double his RBI total up to four.

Once again, Rohrbacher stepped up and hit a solo shot to mark another pair of back-to-back home runs for Mercer. The senior claimed the team-lead for home runs this season with his 16^th.

The home run festivities did not stop there as Hughes improved to 4-for-4 on the day with his 11^th home run of the season, scoring Trevor Austin who reached on a single.

Wofford brought its deficit down to three with a solo home run by Ryan Galanie in the bottom of the seventh. Holton McGaha entered on the bump and struck out the final batter of the inning.

The first run scored for the Bears not on a home run came in the eighth as a ground out by Hughes plated Austin.

The Terriers responded with a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth by Aaron Thomas. Wesley Franklin entered in relief and needed only four pitches to get out of the inning with a strikeout.

Three walks loaded the bases for the Bears in the ninth and forced a pitching change for Wofford. Ty Dalley pushed Mercer into double figures with a sacrifice fly, scoring Rohrbacher.

Wofford did not go down without a fight, adding another run off a single by Trey Yunger. Ryan Lobus entered in relief for the second-straight game and secured the final two outs, a save, and the series win for the Bears.

Five home runs as a team ties a season high for Mercer.
Antonio Brown now has six home runs this season. This was the first multi-home run game of his career.
Jozsef Rohrbacher hit two home runs on Saturday to reach three in the series and a team-leading 16 this season.
