
Mercer Faces Campbell In Big South Tournament Championship Game

MACON, Ga. -Â Mercer women's lacrosse takes on No. 3 seed Campbell in the Big South Tournament Championship game on Sunday at noon from Five Star Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the 8th all-time meeting between Mercer and Campbell. Campbell leads the series 4-3 with Mercer winning each of the last three matchups. The two teams met in Buies Creek, North Carolina last weekend with Mercer winning 14-11.
LAST TIME OUT
After leading by one at halftime, Mercer women's lacrosse outscored High Point 10-1 in the third quarter to defeat the Panthers 18-7 on Friday and advance to the Big South Tournament Championship game.
The Bears will play Campbell in the Big South Tournament Championship game after the Camels defeated Furman in the semifinals.
Mercer outshot High Point 46-19 including a 37-13 shots on goal advantage. The Bears also led in draw controls 18-10. Kayla Soltys led Mercer with seven draw controls and won her 200th of her career in the game.
Shannon Urey led Mercer with five goals and Gabby DiVirgilio had a hat trick for her sixth consecutive game to pace the Bears offensively. Maddi Koury and Chloe Schaeffer each had two goals and an assist in the game.
SCOUTING CAMPBELL
Campbell went 7-2 in conference play this season. The Camels defeated Furman 18-8 in the Big South semifinals on Friday to advance to the championship game.
Campbell is second to Mercer in the Big South in goals per game at 14.39. They lead the conference in assists at 7.33. Campbell leads the country in caused turnovers per game at 14.41.
The Camels' leading goal scorer is First Team All-Conference player Sam Bischoff who has 51 goals in 18 games this year. Rasa Welsh leads the Big South in points with 88 (40G, 48A).
