Mercer Women’s Soccer Releases 2023 Schedule

MACON, Ga. – Mercer women's soccer head coach Tony Economopoulos announced the 20-game schedule for the 2023 season. The Bears' schedule includes 10 home games at Betts Stadium.
Tony Economopoulos is entering his 12th season with the Bears. Economopoulos and the Bears are coming off a 9-4-7 (4-1-4 SoCon) record which included a trip to the SoCon Conference Tournament Semifinals.
Mercer women's soccer action starts with a trip to Auburn, Alabama on August 9, to take on Auburn University. The Bears will return home to Betts Stadium for back-to-back games against the University of Evansville (Aug. 17) and Mississippi Valley State (Aug. 20).
The Bears will travel to Atlanta for a match against Georgia State on August 24, which is followed by a matchup with Alabama State at home on August 27. August will end with a match-up between the Bears and the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina on August 31.
Mercer returns home on September 3, to face off against the University of North Florida. The Bears will begin a three-game away trip which includes matchups against Jacksonville University (Sept. 7), UNC Ashville (Sept. 10), and Gardner-Webb University (Sept. 14). The Bears' final nonconference game is against last season's NCAA semifinalist, University of Alabama on September 17.
On September 21, Mercer will begin SoCon play against Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee. To end the month of September, the Bears will welcome UNC Greensboro (Sept. 24) and Wofford (Sept. 28) to Betts Stadium.
The Bears will continue conference play against East Tennessee on October 1. Mercer will then travel to Lexington, Virginia to take on VMI on October 5. The Bears return home to take on Western Carolina on October 8. Mercer will battle against Samford on October 12 at Betts Stadium.
Mercer will end its season with two road games. The Bears will first travel to Greenville, South Carolina to battle against Furman University on October 15. The final game of the Mercer Women's Soccer 2023 regular season is slated for October 22 against The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
The SoCon Tournament begins October 24. The SoCon Quarterfinals and Semifinals are slated for October 27-29, and the SoCon Tournament Final is slated for November 4.Â
