
Coach Hayes Selected To Division I Operating Committee

Hayes one of 26 head coaches selected to committee
MACON, Ga. - Mercer head tennis coach Eric Hayes has been selected to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Operating Committee as recently announced by the ITA.
Coach Hayes will be a part of the Men's Operating Committee in the Southeast Region.
Coach Hayes was one of 26 Division I head coaches selected to the committee. The coaches were chosen by their fellow ITA Member Coaches and will serve a three-year term that will span until June 2026.Â
The ITA is the governing body and coaches association of college tennis, both an advocate and an authority for the sport and its members. The ITA empowers college tennis coaches at all levels to deliver vibrant tennis programs that are vital to their college communities and transformational to their student-athletes.
This season coach Hayes and the Mercer men's tennis program earned the No. 2 seed in the SoCon Championships, the highest seeding the Bears received in the Championships since 2018. The women's team earned the No. 4 seed and advanced to the SoCon Championship semifinals. It was women's team's highest seeding since 2017.
