Barzee Blama Named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. – Mercer men's soccer forward Barzee Blama is the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for games that ended on Monday, August 28.

Blama had an immediate impact when playing striker for the Bears in the first two game of the season. In his first career game against Cal State Fullerton, Blama was able to slot his first penalty kick passed the goalkeeper in the 85th minutes. Two days later against Southern Indiana, Blama was able to find the back of the net again in the 11th minute. The Bears never looked back following his goal.

Blama is the first Bear and player to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors for the 2023 season.

Barzee and the Bears will travel to Corbet field in Tampa, Florida on September 1 to take on USF at 7 p.m. ET.
