MACON - The Mercer volleyball team sweeps the weekend after a statement win against the Catamounts of Western Carolina. The Bears defend the number one spot in the conference and advance their record to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in conference.

The Bears had a block party in Hawkins tonight, registering a team total of 12 blocks in the victory. Sophia Henry, Skyler Bumpers and Skye Ekes all recorded three blocks a piece. Freshman libero MeMe Davis recorded a match-high 21 digs with a perfect 1.000 reception percentage. Aubri Martin and Brooke Phillips combined for five service aces on the night.

The Bears travel to Tennessee next weekend to face Chattanooga and ETSU for two more conference matches. Mercer will begin the weekend against the Mocs on Friday Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in Maclellan Gym and will close out the weekend in Johnson City against the Buccaneers at 4 p.m.

MATCH REPLAY
SET 1 I 25-18	The Bears got up early on the Catamounts taking a 10-3 lead in the beginning of the set. Western Carolina was able to come back within three points but back-to-back kills from Bumpers shut the door on set one of the match.
SET 2 I 25-22	Mercer's front line came to life in set two with a team hitting percentage of .308. A four-point service run from Abbey Havrilla put the Bears up 6-3 and kept the lead for the remainder of the set.
SET 3 I 25-16	The fans experienced deja vu from last night's win after the Bears held the momentum and completely dominated the Catamounts in set three. Martin and Phillips recorded their own back-to-back aces and Gia Padilla found her rhythm registering six kills to secure the weekend sweep.
