
Volleyball Sweeps The Weekend After Trampling Western Carolina

MACONÂ - The Mercer volleyball team sweeps the weekend after a statement win against the Catamounts of Western Carolina. The Bears defend the number one spot in the conference and advance their record to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in conference.
The Bears had a block party in Hawkins tonight, registering a team total of 12 blocks in the victory. Sophia Henry, Skyler Bumpers and Skye Ekes all recorded three blocks a piece. Freshman libero MeMe Davis recorded a match-high 21 digs with a perfect 1.000 reception percentage. Aubri Martin and Brooke Phillips combined for five service aces on the night.
The Bears travel to Tennessee next weekend to face Chattanooga and ETSU for two more conference matches. Mercer will begin the weekend against the Mocs on Friday Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in Maclellan Gym and will close out the weekend in Johnson City against the Buccaneers at 4 p.m.
