LAST TIME OUT
Mercer defeated The Citadel 3-1 at Betts Stadium on Sunday.
The Bears took an early lead, striking first in the 10th minute. Anna Bachman crossed a ball near the end line, that, after being deflected by the Bulldogs goalie, found Jada Moorman, who buried a shot to put Mercer on top.
Just a few minutes later, the Bears added to the lead. Larkin Thomason beat her defender on the ride side of the field and sent a cross into the box, where Moorman was able to head the ball into the net to secure a brace.
After taking the 2-0 lead into halftime, the Bears scored again in the 56th minute. Keelin Pray faked a shot just outside the box and passed to Sara Engels, who put a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner for another Mercer goal.
The Citadel would score in the 81st minute, but it was not enough for the Bulldogs as the Bears took a 3-1 victory. Mercer finished the regular season with a 8-1-1 record at Betts Stadium.
