TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The Mercer men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA South Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. on Friday, with the men finishing 21st and the women finishing 26th.

Nikki Harris led the way for the women's with a time of 17:51.3, finishing 121st. Emma James followed closely behind at 22:38.9, while Iris Porter also finished under 23 minutes at 22:47.3. Six runners on the women's side posted personal bests.

On the men's side, Buck Ledford was the first Bear to cross the finish line with a time of 32:35.1, finishing 100th. Jacob Peters also posted a sub-33 minute time at 32:40.5, good for 105th. Yianni Pothoulakis finished at 33:00.4, the third best time for Mercer. Peyton Millwood posted a personal best of 34:36.2, finishing in 145th.

Alabama took team victories on both the men's and women's sides. Ole Miss and Tennessee finished second and third in men's race, while Florida and Florida State finished second and third for the women. The Mercer men's team finished with a score of 721 and the women finished with 578.
