Robinson joins Chip Johnson as Mercer players to receive the national recognition this season
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mercer men's basketball guard Ahmad Robinson who was recently named SoCon Player of the Week, was 1-of-5 players named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week list.
The Bears played in just one game last week, a 71-68 road win at Georgia State on Saturday, Dec. 28. In the game, Robinson scored 21 points to go with 10 assists and nine rebounds, finishing one rebound shy of a triple-double. His 10 assists tied his career high.Â
Robinson also had three steals, marking his sixth game of the season with at least three steals. Robinson leads the SoCon with 2.1 steals per game.
Robinson joins teammate Tyler Johnson as Mercer players to receive the national recognition this season.
Mercer begins conference play at home on New Year's Day against Chattanooga. Tip-off is at 3 p.m. from Hawkins Arena.
