Tobias Jonsson Leads Men’s Golf On Day 2 Of the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate

HAMACAO – Senior Tobias Jonsson a 5-under-par (67) to lead the way for the Mercer men's golf team on Monday, but the Bears were unable to make any headway on the team leaderboard and is currently tied in 11th place heading into the final round of the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate on Tuesday.
Jonsson (-6) tallied two birdies and one eagle on Monday at the 7,122-yard, par-72 Palmas Del Mar-Flamboyan Course in Puerto Rico, and made a climb up the individual leaderboard into a three-way share of 2nd place. Senior Jonathan Parker (+2) is among a 11-way tie for 40th place after Monday's round, while Junior Trey Mixon (+4) sits tied for 60th place and graduate student Jay Spivey (+6) and Jacob Uyesato (+8) are tied for 71st and 77th place, respectively.
Arkansas (-19) combined for a 12-under-par 276 team score on Monday, while UNCG (-19) combined for 16-under-par to move into a tie for first place. Sitting in third is Kennesaw State (-15) with a combine score of 281. The Bears (+4) are 23 strokes off of the pace established by the Razorbacks.
Tee times for Tuesday's final round at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate are scheduled to commence tomorrow morning.
