MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's basketball team looks to build off its home win on Thursday over Fruman when they welcome Wofford to Hawkins Arena Saturday, Feb. 24. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game between Mercer and Wofford will be the 26th all-time meeting between the two programs. Mercer leads the series 20-5, although the Terriers have won each of the last three meetings, including a one-point win earlier this season in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford is coming off an 22-10 season last year. The Terriers went 10-4 in conference play on their way to winning the regular season SoCon championship.
This season, Wofford was picked to finish fourth in the conference in the Preseason Coaches Poll. The Terriers are 7-4 in conference play so far, and are coming off a 65-62 loss to Samford on Thursday.
Wofford is led by eighth-year head coach Jimmy Gerrity. Gerrity joined the the program in 2017 and in his eight season has a record of 121-111
Wofford currently owns the number two scoring offense in the SoCon at 66.2 points per game. Their 8.1 made threes per game is most in the conference. However, they rank last in the conference in field goal percentage at 37.9%.
In addition, the Terriers boast Preseason Player of the year, guard, Rachael Rose who leads the conference in points per game with 22.1 ppg and rebounds with 8.8 rebounds per game. In addition to Rose, Maddie Heiss is the only other Terrier averaging double figures in scoring with 11.1 points per game. Freshman forward Evangelia Paulk ranks second on the team and ranks fifth in the SoCon in rebounding at 7.4 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT
Behind one of its best defensive performances of the season, the Mercer women's basketball team needed and got one more stop in the final seconds of the game to earn a 55-50 home win over Furman Thursday night in Hawkins Arena.
A layup from an out of bounds play from Briana Peguero put Mercer up 53-50 with 15 seconds to play. Peguero followed her layup by on the ensuing play, blocking a potential Furman game-tying three-point attempt and scored in transition to seal the win for the Bears.
Mercer had two players score in double figures, led by Summah Evans, who had 16 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks. Stacie Jones added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
