
Mercer With Strong Showing In 7-0 Win Over Georgia College

MACON, Ga. - Coming off a great weekend with two wins, the Mercer women's tennis team kept the momentum going with a strong 7-0 win over Georgia College on Wednesday afternoon at the Randy Stephens Tennis Center in Macon.
Mercer didn't drop a set on the day as they improved to 6-3 on the season.
In doubles action, Mercer's Mariella Minetti and Tea Zivic rolled to a 6-0 win over Georgia College's Ashley Bentz and Shradha Chhabra. Mercer then earned the doubles point when Teodora Ristic and Marina de Diego Quinones came out on top in a close match against Ashton Morrison and Jada Young of Georgia College, 7-5.
With the Bears earning the doubles point, the doubles match on court two went unfinished between Mercer's Lea Falentin and Emilia Cosatto with the match tied at 6-6.
In the singles matches, Teodora Ristic dropped just one game in her 6-0, 6-1 win over Georgia College's Jada Young. On court six, after winning the first set 6-3, Zivic was even better in the second set, winning 6-0 win to defeat Lucy Kim of Georgia College.
Lea Falentin clinched the match for the Bears by defeating Georgia College's Ashley Bent in resounding fashion 6-0, 6-1. Mariella Minetti also didn't drop a game in the first set of her match against Ashton Morrison of Georgia College as she won 6-0, 6-2.
Emilia Cosatto won her match over Georgia College's Shradha Chhabra, 6-3, 6-4. Marina de Diego Quinones finished out the day for the Bears by ousting Georgia College's Chiara Santori, 6-2, 7-6 (2).
Up next for Mercer is a trip to Troy, Alabama to play Troy on Saturday at 10 a.m.
